Adult Basic EducationThe Adult Basic Education (ABE) program is for students who wish to improve their reading, writing, and/or math skills. The program includes small group instruction, computer lessons, videos, and textbooks. Students take a test to determine what level they are in for each subject. They are then given a contract to complete in each area.

Students who successfully complete  Basic English, Basic Math, and Basic Reading courses are eligible to receive a California Community College Chancellor's Office approved Adult Basic Education Certificate of Completion. Students earning this certificate are invited to take part in one of our monthly graduation ceremonies. They are encouraged to invite family and friends to the celebration.

Remember!!! If you have problems filling out the application or enrolling in a class, please come to the Garfield Campus front office or to the class of your interest and speak with the instructor.
