Cross Country Alumni Start Season Strong

Several alumni of the GCC men and women's cross country team have started the 2013 season strong at their chosen four-year schools.

Grace Graham-Zamudio, the 2013 State Female Athlete of the Year, placed first for Loyola Marymount University in the Mark Covert Invitational in 17:45.5 over the 5K course. Kurt Lutz at San Francisco State University was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Athlete of the Wee for the week of Sept. 5-8 after winning the individual title in the Crystal Springs Invite over the 8 course in 26:48 on Sept. 7 as well as leading SF State tot the team title. Alexander Nelson won the individual title at the Humboldt Invitational in 26:10 over the 8K course to lead Humboldt to the team title.
