Orientations are generally held before the start of each fall and spring
These orientations are designed for two particular purposes:
1. To help new volunteer coordinators in our current database of
organization to become more familiar with our organization and how students
sign up; and
2. To recruit new organizations and explain the purpose of the program as
well as how students sign up with their organization.
The orientation covers the following:
Brief History and Overview;
Definition of Service Learning;
Instilling civic responsibility in students;
CSI functions and operations and how students sign up;
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) and what we hope students will get out of
their service experience; and,
A walking tour of the campus for those who have not been to GCC.
If you would like to participate in our next Agency Orientation, please email
us at firstname.lastname@example.org or look
for our email in the months of August and February.
