MEN'S BASKETBALL

    Glendale beat Citrus College 72-70 Saturday, the first victory over the Owls in six years, to take over first place in the Western State Conference Southern Division at 3-0 in conference and 14-5 overall. They had a bye last Wednesday.

   The Vaqueros were led by WSC South Player of the Week Nikolas Rhodes, with 15 points and four assists. Antonio Garrett had 13 points and Suilaiman Sekamwa had a game high 15 rebounds and nine points.

    Glendale, ranked No. 13 in the California Community College Coach's Southern Division poll, plays at West Los Angeles College Wednesday and hosts College of the Canyons Saturday. Both games start at 5:00 p.m.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

    The Lady Vaqs fell to Citrus 74-33 Saturday to fall to 0-3 in the WSC South and 0-15 overall. Araceli Nievfes led Glendale with nine points and seven rebounds and Delfina Gonzalez added seven points.

    Glendale plays at West Los Angeles College Wednesday and hosts College of the Canyons Saturday. Both games start at 7:00 p.m.
