     Glendale fell to Long Beach City College 82-73 last Wednesday in a Southern California Regional first-round playoff game. Sophomore Narbeh Ebrahimian led Glendale with 17 points and four assists in his last game as a Vaquero and Suiliman Sekamwa added 14 points and 10 rebounds and Nikolas Rhodes had 12 points

    The Vaqueros ended the season 18-11.


    The Vaqueros beat Pasadena City College 6-5 Thursday in a game postponed by rain on Feb. 19. Saturday's game against East Los Angeles College was rained out and will be replayed Monday Feb. 28. In the win over PCC, Sako Chapjian and Erik Suarez each had three hits and Chapjian drove in three runs with a pair of doubles. Starting pitcher Thomas Korn went five innings and allowed five hits and two earned runs and struck out six.

    Glendale hosts Long Beach City College Tuesday at 2 p.m. and starts Western State Conference play Saturday with a 1 p.m. home game. All home games are played at Stengel Field across the street from Glendale College.


    Glendale competed in a pair of matches last week, finishing third in a WSC match last Monday hosted by Santa Barbara City College at Alisal Ranch Country Coub and took first in the Ventura Invitational last Wednesday at Crystal Aire Country Club. In the match at Ventura, Glendale won by four strokes over Reedley College, 376 to 380. Brennan Amirkhizi shot 72 for the Vaqs and got a 73 from Danny Fernandez, 75 from Jin Park and 78s from Aaron Fernandez and Chris Ramirez. 

    The Vaqueros compete in a Western State Conference match Monday hosted by Ventura College at the Saticoy Country Club.


    Glendale beat Santa Barbara City College 7-2 Thursday in its Western State conference opener to improve to 4-4 this season and 1-0 in WSC play. The Vaqs won five of six matches in sigles with Alex Sarkissian leading the way at No. 1 singles with a 7-6 (5) 6-0 win. Trevor Cambelll, Stephan Mamann, Grayson Frazier and Dro Mahmoudi also had wins in singles as did the doubles team of Sarkissian and Campbell.

    The Vaqueros play two matches at home this week on Tuesday hosting Bakersfield College and Thursday against Los Angeles Pierce College. Both matches start at 2:00 p.m.


    The Lady Vaqs fell to Oxnard 5-2 Thursday in a non-confernce game and their record fell to 4-7 this season. Rachel Aleen had two hits in the loss to Oxnard and Brandy Morin and Carly Zabka doubled and Arelly Alvarez had a triple. Morin took the loss on the mound and and is 2-1 this season

    Glendale cancelled Saturday's doubleheader against San Diego Mesa College and plays next  Saturday March 12 at Cypress College in a doubleheader.


    Glendale fell to Santa Barbara 9-0 Thursdays in its 2011 WSC opener at home Thursday. The Lady Vaqs are 1-2 overall this season and 0-1 in WSC play.

    The Lady Vaqs play at Bakersfield Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. and and at Santa Monica Thursday at 1:00 p.m.
