The baseball team won it's second consecutive Southern California Regional title in exciting fashion this weekend with a 5-3 win over San Diego Mesa College Saturday, highlighted by a walk off grand slam homer by Julian Jarrard in the bottom of the 10th inning, and a 6-0 win over SD Mesa Sunday in the best two-out-of-three series. Glendale, 27-10 and seeded No. 5, will play in the Southern California Super Regionals Friday through Sunday, hosted by Orange Coast College and will face Mt. San Antonio College, 30-8 and seeded No. 4, at 3 p.m. Friday in the first game of the double elimination tournament.
The women's softball team defeated Ventura College 6-2 Saturday and 1-0 Sunday to advance to the Southern California Super Regionals for the first time in school history this Friday through Sunday at Cypress College in a four team double elimination tournament with the Lady Vaqs, 29-13 and seeded No. 7, facing host school Cypress, 38-4 and seeded No. 2, in an opening round game Friday in a time to be determined.
Freshman golfers Mathis Dahl and Richie Maloof qualified as individuals from the GCC Men's Golf Team to play in the state championships Monday May 14 at the Santa Maria Country Club. Maloof shot 146 over two rounds of play Monday to finish tied for sixth place at the Southern California Regionals played at the Glendora Country Club and Dahl shot 148 to finish tied for eighth place. The top 14 individuals qualified for the state tournament.
Glendale finished third as team and shot 746 behind event winner College of the Canyons with a 722 and College of the Desert was second with a 734. The top two team from the North and South qualified for the team competition.

Women's track runners Grace Zamudio won the 10,000 meters Saturday at the Southern California prelims at San Diego mesa College to qualify for the state meet at Cerritos College Friday and Saturday May 18-19 and Nohemi Martinez finished third in the same race to qualify for state as several other runners qualified for the Southern California Finals this Saturday at San Diego Mesa College.
Women's doubles players Sevana Zargarian and Samantha Sismundo qualified for the state tournament May 10-12 at the Balboa Tennis Center in San Diego by advancing to the semifinals of the Southern California Tournament last Friday.
The doubles team of Trevor Campbell and Grayson Frazier end their season last Friday by falling in the round of 16 at the Southern California regionals last Friday at Irvine Valley College.
