Assistant Coach - Eighth Year 

Coach Jilizian returns to the Vaquero coaching staff for his fifth season after four years as the head boy’s varsity basketball coach for the Hoover High Tornadoes. In the 2005-2006 season, the Tornadoes enjoyed one of their most successful seasons in several years, compiling 20 wins against 7 defeats. The Tornadoes placed second in the Pacific League and qualified for the Southern Section CIF playoffs. Hoover lost in the second round to Great Oak High School. Coach Jilizian began his coaching career as an assistant at Alhambra High School from 1998-2001 and later moved on to become an assistant coach at Glendale College. Coach Jilizian is a member of the Social Science Department at Hoover High School, teaching World and U.S. History. He graduated from UC Davis in 1993 with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Political Science after transferring from Glendale College in 1990. Coach Jilizian also attended Hoover High School and graduated in 1988. Coach Jilizian was an outstanding player for the Vaqueros and holds Glendale records for most assists in a career, season and game. He resides in Glendale with his wife Julie and boys, Alex (13) and Jake (11).

Assistant Coach
Third Year

Coach Bagaryan starts his second year with the Vaqueros staff after working as an assistant coach at Los Angeles Valley College in 2010. He will work primarily with the guards and wing players. His coaching experience also includes a stint at Yankton College in South Dakota from 1998-2005 and at Grant High School in Van Nuys from 2006-10. Bagaryan played high school basketball at Grant and counts head coach Howard Levine as one of his mentors.

Murphy DavisMurphy Davis
Assistant Coach
First Year

Davis comes to Glendale from San Bernardino Valley College where as an assistant coach he assisted the head coach at practice and recruited players from 2010-2013. He also coached at Solano Junior College as a player development coach from 2000-2002. Davis played high school basketball at Vanden High School in Fairfield, Ca where he was the league MVP and led his team to the state finals. Davis played college ball at Golden West College and earned all-conference honors and transferred to the University of North Texas State. He has a BA degree in sociology from Cal State East Bay and a Master’s in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University in 2013.
