American River College took first with 20 points, Glendale was second with 70 and Orange Coast College was third with 104. Kurt Lutz was the top finisher for Glendale in sixth place in 21:07. Issac Diosdado was 11th in 21:22, Enrique Ramirez was 16ht in 21:42, Vladimir Diaz was 18th in 21:44,Yeltsen.Vasquez was 19th in 21:45 and Steban Aviles was 21ist 21:47.
ORANGE COAST CLASSIC:
Glendale took third with 96 points behind meet winner American River College with 24 and second place Cerritos with 72 points. Diosdado took 11th place to pace the Vaqs in 21:14.12. Kurt Lutz was 15th in 21:20.68, Vladimir Diaz was 19th in 21:26.11, Yeltsen Vasquez was 26th in 21:40.47, Enrique Ramirez was 28th in 21:43.67 and Steban Aviles was 32nd in 21:49.78.
The Glendale men took second with 37 points, just behind meet winner Trade Tech with 30 points and Riverside was third with 82 points.
Issac Diosdado was third in 20:4, Kurt Lutz was fourth in 20:48, Mario Castillo was seventh in 21:00, Vladimir Diaz was 10th 21:05, Steban Aviles was 13th in 21:12, Yeltsen Vasquez was 15th in 21:16 and Daniel Marin was 17th in 21:18.
Issac Diosdado paced the GCC men's cross country team to team victory Friday at the Western State Conference Preview meet Friday in Santa Monica. Diosdado timed 21:45.60 over the four-mile course to pace Glendale to the win with 20 points with L.A. Valley College second with 83 points and Cuesta College third with 85 points.
For the men who finished second through sixth and were separated by just seven seconds, Kurt Lutz was third in 21:49.4, Yeltsen Vasquez was fourth in 21:51.31, Mizrael Mendez was fifth in 21:52.66, Vladimir Diaz was sixth in 21:52.76 and Mario Castillo was eighth in 22:08.39.
SANTA BARBARA INVITATIONAL:
The men finished third as a team in the four mile race behind Riverside with 53 points, second place Orange Coast had 67 and Glendale was third with 69.Issac Diosdado was the top Glendale finisher in fourth place in 22:33. Kurt Lutz was ninth in 22:42. Ashton Malone was 17th in 22:50, Mario Castillo was 18th in 22:57, Vladimir Diaz was 20th in 23:00, Mizrael Mendez was 21st in 23:03.
The men's team also took the team title, its fifth straight and 22nd since 1980, 24-63 over Valley College.
Issac Diosdado paced the men, ranked second in Southern California and third in the state, over the four-mile course with a second-place finish in 22:25.02 as the VAqueros finished fourth through eighth. Kurt Lutz was fourth in 22:43.90, Yeltsen Vasquez was fifth in 22:45.76, Ashton Malone was sixth in 23:01.53, Mizrael Mendez was seventh in 23:02.82 and Vladimir Diaz was eighth in 23:04.58.
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CHAMPIONSHIPS:
The men finished sixth with 118 points as just 23 points separated the top six teams as San Bernardino Valley College was the meet winner with 95 points, Kurt Lutz was the top finisher for Glendale in 10th place over the four-mile course in 20:30.08. Issac Diosdado was 14th in 20:32.83, Mario Castillo was 24th in 20:50.92, Vladimir Diazwas 31st in 21:00.16 and Yeltsen Vasquez was 39th in 21:10.93.
The 2012 Fall Athletic Season at Glendale College finished Saturday with both the men and women's cross country teams finishing second in state in Fresno. This is a tremendous accomplishment for both groups under Head Coach Eddie Lopez and assistant coaches David Rodriguez, Bryan Ramos, Kathryn Nelson and Tomas Aguirre and all the student-athletes who were ranked among the top teams in Southern California and the state all season.
