Communicative Disorders is designated as a professional major and a master's degree in the areas of speech-language pathology and audiology. Students normally choose one of these areas at the master's level. Completion of the graduate degree meets the academic requirements for licensure from the Medical Board of California and for the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
