This title is not a major, but a course of study. Students do not need to major in any particular subject in order to apply for and be accepted to a Medical School. Many students choose to follow majors that are based in the Biological Sciences because many of the Pre-Med courses are built into the major. However, students are advised to major in a subject they will do well in and enjoy, and make sure to take the Pre-Med courses as part of their electives at the community college or the university they transfer to. As soon as students have decided on their major, they should make sure to fulfill the lower division requirements for that major as well as the Pre-Med requirements. The following requirements are the medical school requirements from universities in California. Please refer to catalogs for the additional requirements for medical school including MCAT scores, interviews, etc.
