Alfred Hacopian, MBA, teaches business communication at Glendale Community College. For over 12 years, Alfred has taught business communication, ESL, and civics classes in the multicultural Glendale community. As a mortgage banking professional with over 20 years of work experience, Alfred offers hands-on experiences in business communication to his students, who are eager to learn practical skills needed in the real world.
With his extensive background in business intelligence and management, Alfred is a strong advocate of connecting written business messages with the underlying data elements and facts. A strong believer of collateral learning, Alfred teaches business communication in the context of such business topics as personal finance, investment, and real estate.
Alfred’s book, Write Business, was written in collaboration with Linda Serra, former Business Division Chair of Glendale Community College, and published in September 2013. Write Business is designed to be a practical guide for college students in learning the basic elements of business communication, especially those required in written business communication courses. As a practitioner’s guide, Write Business “walks the walk” by focusing on the basics about written business communication and delivering them to its users in eight succinct chapters in both digital and hard copy formats available through www.chaptercollege.com and Amazon.
Born in Tehran, Iran, Alfred is fluent in English, Armenian, and Farsi. He is a graduate of California State University, Northridge, and Pepperdine University.
