My major responsibility is to counsel noncredit students regarding their placement in noncredit programs and/or transfer to credit programs. This will involve the evaluation of high school and foreign transcripts; the administration of GED exams and coordinating the transition process from noncredit to credit programs. I often advise immigrant students on the educational systems in the United States. Each semester I will go to the classrooms to present noncredit/credit programs and services, and will assist in the coordination of orientations/tours of the credit campus for the noncredit students. I may also conduct workshops for the students on Financial Aid, EOPS, and other services of the main campus on Verdugo Road.
I enjoy working with such a wonderful, courteous, and professional members of Glendale Community College at our Garfield Campus. However, what I enjoy the most is working with our diverse students population. I am sincerely committed to their welfare and it is most enjoyable and rewarding for me working with them to achieve their goals.
Students often tell me how wonderful our programs are and how grateful they are for the opportunities given them. They appreciate the nice and helpful attitudes of the faculty, counselors, and clerical staff.
